Wreath Care and Tips

Thank you for choosing Kim’s Kreations, etc. Each wreath designed and created by Kim’s Kreations, etc is unique…different flowers, different ribbon, different accessories, etc. Where you display your wreath and how you care for your wreath will determine the shelf life of each and every one. Before I ship your wreath, I spray each one with a UV weather resistant spray or a clear matte sealant to help preserve the shelf life of your wreath. Burlap will fade over time, paper mesh will fray, flowers will discolor slightly. This all depends on where you display each one. I use premium quality silk flowers and ribbon to ensure the longevity of your wreath.  Below are a few tips and instructions on how to make your wreath last as long as possible.
For safe shipping, your wreath will be secured by two pipe cleaners (chenille stems). When unpacking, simply untwist each one and lift wreath out of the box. You can reuse the box for storage later if you choose.  Some of my larger wreaths may be secured with zip ties and will need to be cut to remove.
With proper care, you should get a few seasons out of your wreath.  Again, this depends on where you display your wreath.  For the most part, the materials used are pretty durable to the outdoor elements.  I suggest hanging your wreath on a door that has an overhang or porch to protect it as much as possible. Your wreath may need fluffed or the wired bow reshaped from time to time due to wind or rain exposure.  For cemetery and gravesite wreaths I spray with a few extra coats of protectant.  I don’t recommend burlap wreaths for direct sunlight as they will fade. I have used the silk flower grapevine wreath and the poly deco mesh wreath at my mom’s gravesite and it withstands the weather quite well!
If desired, you can use the box that your wreath was shipped in to store your wreath at the end of a season. Just line with tissue paper to protect the silk flowers and decorations. You may want to “stuff” the bow with tissue paper or plastic grocery bags to help hold its shape during storage. I do not, I just reshape the bow when I am ready to display again.  If you have room in a closet to hang your wreath, just slip a hanger through the attached hanger on the back of the wreath, cover with a plastic garbage bag and hang on a clothing bar. This will protect against dust during storage. This is how I store my wreaths. Do not store your wreath where the room temperature changes dramatically, i.e., a garage if you live where the winters are cold or the attic where it gets too hot.  This could cause some of the items to loosen or become unglued.
Never hang a wreath above a baby crib and keep out of reach of small children.
